Innovating the triangle in Somalia

Millions of children and young adults do not have access to quality education and healthcare, essential rights and needs for the path out of poverty. In light of this problem, Oxfam Novib organised together with HIRDA and Butterfly Works the event ‘Innovating the Triangle of Education, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and Gender’. On the 23rd of April the three partners came together in The Hague aiming to reflect with other stakeholders on the effectiveness of approaches to work on this triangle. > more

Vote for HIRDA to raise funds

HIRDA’s project ‘Resilience through Sport’, is selected by the Oranjefonds foundation as a possible Kroonappel (crown apple in English). With this project HIRDA aims to engage the Diaspora youth in the development of their home country as well as to improve the integration of Somali refugee youth to their host country. Being nominated by the Oranjefonds foundation means that HIRDA can win a prize amount of 50.000 euro and a huge increase in the awareness of the organization. > more

The Way Forward: Innovating Diaspora engagement In May HIRDA celebrates its 15 years of existence, looking back with pride on what it has achieved in those years. To commemorate this important milestone HIRDA organises the conference ‘Innovating diaspora engagement: The Way Forward’. This conference focuses on HIRDA’s past accomplishments and its plans for the future in Somalia. HIRDA aims for NGOs and government to become aware of the opportunities that migration offers to the development of Somalia. > more
